I've just exhibited at my first craft fair! When I was offered the the chance, at the beginning of February, to be part of a new venture, the first Fair was only 4 weeks away! Mad work followed alongside my everyday work,to make enough stock and prepare myself.
The Fair, held in Forest Row on Sunday 28th February, was very enjoyable. I sold enough stock to cover my costs and look forward to further dates. Well worth 'Taking the Opportunity'. www.bournestringing.co.uk |

Well done on adding a new dimension to your business. I have found many times over the years that it is good to chuck yourself in at the deep end every so often. I have been in the same industry for 25 years now so true firsts become harder to find. This is one of the reasons that I became a Governor at Sackville, a chance to use some transferable skills but also lots of opportunities for completely new stuff. Sackville had it's Ofsted inspection last week, I volunteered to be interviewed by one of the inspectors and had the pleasure of a half hour grilling on Friday morning. The report will be published in three weeks time and as the Board of Governors have their own rating within the report we'll be able to see how well (or badly) I did.
Grilled by Ofsted, not a business first but still a completely new experience ! Anyone else have any recent firsts that they would like to share ? Russell Shenton |
