- Over the last fifteen years or so East Grinstead as a centre for retail has declined in line with similar sized towns. Steps to rejuvenate the town centre and increase "foot fall" are being undertaken but are they too little too late?
- The EGBA is playing a leading role in bringing together the towns retailers and the Council Members who together must ensure that our town prospers.

Parking in the town centre remains an issue which is not easily resolved. Many would like to see free parking available to shoppers but the revenue stream created by the charges is essential to District Council finances.
House building is a government requirement and the South East will have to take its share. East Grinstead will be required to contribute. The question is how many and where are they to be located?
Visitors to East Grinstead arriving by train are not presented with an attractive sight. What can be done to smarten up, "beautify" Railway Approach and London Road? Should the High Street and/or London Road be pedestrianised or made one-way?
