14 Feb Brighton Mainline Engineering Works Update
Dear Stakeholder,
You will be aware that Network Rail and GTR are working together on an essential major engineering project between Brighton and Three Bridges and Brighton and Lewes which will include in a 9-day line closure from 16-24 February 2019 plus several further weekends during March and April. During this period, a number of our stations and their associated road infrastructure becomes key to transporting passengers to their destination whilst the Brighton Main Line is closed.
Our teams have been fully engaged at a local level to discuss your concerns and work together to manage the risks of this major blockade. The feedback and support received to date from your organisation has been invaluable in helping us shape our blockade strategy and workstream plans and for this we are very grateful. Our plans are now complete and we are finalising our preparations in readiness for the blockade. Your valuable feedback during the blockade is welcomed, particularly if there are any areas of concern or positive feedback about our operations that you would like me to be aware of.
Due to the size and complexity of the blockade operation, Network Rail and GTR has jointly appointed a dedicated Project Director (Dan Athol) to oversee all workstreams. Dan will be happy to receive any feedback or enquiries from you via the usual email BrightonMainline@networkrail.co.uk which will continue to be monitored throughout the blockade.
Kind regards,
John Halsall
