30 May Chartham Park Golf Captains Charity: Main event sponsorship opportunities
Over the last decade, melanoma incidence rates have increased by 50% in the UK with around 15,400 new cases diagnosed every year, that’s 42 every day. This preventable cancer is primarily caused by over exposure to the sun and although it prefers lighter skins, everyone is vulnerable; especially those who like to spend lots of time outdoors.
As this is highly relevant to nearly all our members, Chartham Park Captains’ Charity has selected the Melanoma Fund, as their club charity for 2018/19. This small but highly proactive charity, based in East Grinstead, works passionately to raise awareness of how to protect against, detect and prevent this most dangerous form of skin cancer via targeted, national campaigns as well as funding research into finding a cure.
Sponsorship doubles as marketing
As part of this support, we are offering you the chance to sponsor one of our exciting golfing events this season. As over 51% of us would be more inclined to buy a product or use a service from a company that get involved with a charitable cause, this is an ideal opportunity to raise your profile to a local targeted audience, in a positive way.
Our events include:
• Seniors Invitation Day: Wednesday, 18th July
• Men’s Invitation Day: Saturday, 28th July
• Ladies Invitation Day: Saturday, 4th August
• Charity Day: Saturday, 15th September
Our sponsorship packages are flexible and can be tailored to suit your requirements, just for example:
• Sponsor a hole at one of the charity or invitation golf days:
– Banner at a particular available golf tee
• Sponsors package at one of the charity or invitation golf days
– Banner at club house and particular hole
– Outside stand for leaflets and promotion
– CP social media news items for a week before and on the day of each event
• Sponsors package for all four days

Note: Social media coverage will be in recognition and appreciation of the sponsor’s support, not direct advertising. It could cover the promotion of a sponsors special offer/ discount for Chartham Park members, if appropriate. Write up of the sponsored events can also be included in the monthly Chartham Park Newsletter (3,000+ distribution).
