Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme

On Friday the Chancellor announced the following changes to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).  These are explained in the official guidance linked below.
The ability to apply flexible furlough will be brought in a month earlier than expected, ie from 1 July.  Employers can bring back to work employees that have previously been furloughed for any amount of time and any shift pattern and they can still claim CJRS grant for their normal hours not worked.  Further guidance for employers will be published on 12 June.

Meanwhile self-employed workers will be eligible for another ‘lump sum’ grant which they can apply for in August to cover the three months (June, July, Aug),  However this final grant will be 70% of average monthly trading profits up to a total of £6,570 (as opposed to 80% previously).
There was no announcement of support for those whose business is structured as a registered company.
