So the worst kept secret and much anticipated date for the next phase of lockdown easing, is just around the corner. From 4th of July East Grinstead will be opening up for socialising and overnight stays and that much anticipated post lockdown haircut!!! Will it be quite the same as it was? No, but with some careful management, safety measures and good old fashioned common sense it can be a ‘new normal’ and allow us all to venture out into the town and help the businesses thrive. Please remain patient and kind with each other as we all learn how to navigate our way round this new way of living and remember, the virus has not gone away. Keep following Government guidelines to keep yourselves and others around you safe and well.
In the coming months we hope to bring you news of events around the town. At present they are limited as restrictions on mass gatherings have not yet been lifted.
For this month we are pleased to see that Standen NTs measures to opened its gardens to the public have been successful. Tickets must be booked in advance via their website (free to members) The car park is free and toilet facilities are open and cleaned regularly throughout the day. The Barn Café has now been opened for a takeaway service of soft drinks, ice creams, cream teas and sweet treats. The gardens are a beautiful setting for a socially distanced picnic with friends and family.
The Bluebell Railway turns 60 in August and is planning a phased reopening to coincide with its Diamond Anniversary from 7th August. In the meantime check their website https://www.bluebell-railway.com/ for further details, virtual events and fun facts during the countdown.
