10 Feb East Grinstead Planning
The Mid Sussex District Council Site Allocation Development Plan Document ( SA DPD )which was published in July 2020, will go to an independent public examination in March 2021 with the planning Inspector named as Luke Fleming. This document seeks to allocate a potential future 1,764 houses with 22 sites across the District. Three of these sites are located in East Grinstead, being ; the Old Police Station in East Court (22 dwellings), Land South of Crawley Down road (200 dwellings), Land South and West of Imberhorne Upper School (550 dwellings).
EGBA will be briefed throughout this process by Exec member Rex Whittaker who will be attending and following the examination closely. The Inspector’s Report is expected in the Summer. Full details of this Plan can be found on the MSDC Website/Planning Policy/SA DPD.
EGBA continue to work closely with local stakeholders involved in the Queens Walk development to promote future retail and also a smart office hub use. The pandemic has forced many to work from home – and East Grinstead would be a great location for a town centre smart new office hub, where individuals can rent a good value hot desk with total flexibility, but which also has central office facilities available such as reception & PO Box post , meeting & conference rooms.
