05 Jan East Grinstead Safe Places
Safe Places is a national network which identifies where anyone feeling vulnerable or unsafe can seek assistance. Individuals can sign up to the scheme, which will issue them a card with their name and their emergency contact numbers. This card is then handed over at a Safe Place venue, where someone will make a ‘phone call to the contact number and ask that they collect the person.
Businesses and organisations can sign up to the scheme too and receive a window sticker to identify them as a “Safe Place” which helps the card holder to identify safe place venues. Venues are also identified via a free app which will give directions to the nearest safe place.
Not only does this provide an extended network to the potentially vulnerable person, but it can also serve to highlight your business to the community at large and provide another touch point to potential customers and clients.
All those employed at the venues involved in the scheme will undergo safeguarding training, (15 to 30 minutes video) so that they can keep the person and themselves safe at all times.
