EGBA Chooses The Greenaway Foundation as their New Charity

 

It has long been the aim of Darren Greenaway Managing Director of Greenaway Residential Estate Agents & Lettings Agents to help the local community.  This started ten years ago with the Christmas efforts of delivering to financially challenged families, all the ingredients they would need to cook a two-course healthy Christmas Dinner.  Five years later, the Wishing Tree was introduced.  This would let many of the children from the families being helped, to make a wish for a present up to the value of £25 and this would be delivered along with the food on Christmas Eve Morning.

Another initiative that is being rolled out to schools in the area is providing them with a ‘float of money’ which teachers can use to help children with everyday problems like food, travel, uniforms.  The aim is to help schools ease the anxiety and stress of children, so school is seen as a positive place to be by the children.

In 2020 The Greenaway Foundation became a registered charity with the main aim of helping child poverty in the local area.  Another aim is to involve local businesses to help local issues. This started with getting businesses to sponsor a food item in the Christmas efforts or by sponsoring children’s presents.

Over the coming years the foundation will look for more innovative ways to achieve the aims of the charity with the help of local businesses.  A very positive step in the right direction is being the nominated charity for the East Grinstead Business Association (EGBA).  Hopefully, this will help towards raising awareness of the charity within the business community and give businesses the opportunity to engage with very local causes.

Every penny raised by the charity goes directly to helping others.  All the costs associated with running a charity are paid for by Greenaway Residential.  A business solution to local issues.
