25 Mar Greenaway Residential Win Charity Award
The Greenaway Residential Foundation win an award at the Crawley Community Awards which are organised by the Crawley Borough Council in association with the Crawley Observer and the Hawth Theatre on the 6TH March 2018. The awards recognise and reward people who live, work, volunteer or study in the Crawley District who give up their time, talents and skills to help and support others in their community and those who have trained, worked and put all their efforts into making real achievements.
For the past seven years the Greenaway Residential Foundation which is the charity side of Greenaway Residential Estate Agents have been helping local financially challenged families with ad hoc help not only throughout the year but also at Christmas.
At Christmas families which could use a little extra help are nominated by local schools in the Crawley and East Grinstead areas and the Foundation will provide them with all the ingredients they will need to cook a two course family Christmas dinner. Children from these families can also come in to one of the offices at Greenaway Residential Estate Agents and make a wish for a present, which the Foundation will then provide by getting members of the public to buy, sponsor or donate.
During Christmas 2017, the Foundation provided meals for 247 families and was able to make 302 children’s wishes come true.
There were over three hundred nominations for the charity category and team at the Greenaway Residential Foundation were overwhelmed by the support and recognition of the local community. Managing Director Darren Greenaway could not thank the local community enough and the team who worked tirelessly throughout the autumn and the lead up to Christmas. Everyone firmly got behind the Foundations mission of ‘do good in the world, until there is enough good in the world’.
