Housing Development Plans for East Grinstead by Rex Whittaker

This Thursday 31 October the Hill Place Farm planning application for 200 houses in Turners Hill Road goes before the MSDC planning committee and is recommended for approval by the planning officers. It already has outline planning consent granted by the Secretary of State in March 2018.  If approved over half of the houses will be two and three bedroom and also includes sixty affordable homes.

We are now half way through the six week public consultation period for the MSDC Site Allocations DPD (“Development Plan Document”). This document includes three sites within East Grinstead as provisionally allocated for new future housing.

These sites are ;

The old police station in East Court for up to 22 units.
Crawley Down Road for up to 200 houses
Imberhorne Farm for up to 550 houses.
Full details of these can be found on the MSDC website/planning/policy/SA DPD.

There are also documents on display at the Library and Town Council offices are East Court – just ask the reception staff and they will direct you.

All individual consultation responses must be sent to MSDC no later than 20 November.

    I live in Heathcote Drive East Grinstead, it will cause so much disruption, the traffic now is busy at peak hours, can you imagine what it would be like if 500 houses are built on the fields of imberhorne Road, why do we need another sports complex when we have them already, Why can’t you build a bypass like other towns have done.
