02 Dec Planning and Development by Rex Whittaker
On 31 October consent was approved at the MSDC District Planning committee for the construction of 200 homes on land at Hill Place Farm in Turners Hill Road. Outline planning consent had already been given by the Secretary of State for Communities in March 2018.
Of the 200 houses, 60 will be Affordable Social Housing (40 for rent and 20 for shared ownership). There will be 38 two bedroom and 71 three bedroom houses which is in accordance with the Local Neighbourhood Plan. As part of the layout there will be 12 hectares of permanently retained and managed grassland and natural open space. In total there will be 461 parking spaces on the Scheme.
A signed S106 legal agreement between Linden Homes and MSDC provides £2.64 million of public and infrastructure financial contributions including: primary, secondary, sixth form education, library, highways, sport, healthcare, community buildings, forestry and local infrastructure. There are extensive planning conditions which the town council will monitor closely. It is anticipated that construction works will commence in Spring 2020.
