The Business Hothouse was a £10.9m business support programme led by the University of Chichester Business School. It ran from January 2020 through to April 2023, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by district councils within the coast-to-capital area, including Mid Sussex. It provided a programme of business support and grant funding to businesses across the coast-to-capital area.
- For every £1 invested in delivering the project £13.33 was generated in the economy
- Across the coast to capital area 625 enterprises received support
- 168 received grant support totalling £2.65m
- £3.5m match funding secured from private investment
- 58 new jobs created.
